TDC extends monetary aid to Gobardhon's family

Imphal, February 11 2013:
Transporters and Drivers' Council (TDC) today handed over an amount of Rs 50,000 to the family members of truck driver Ningombam Gobardhon of Wangjing Hodamba, who was found murdered inside his truck at Kohima in Nagaland along NH-2(Imphal-Dimapur Road) on February 7 morning, as assistance towards the ritual ceremonies to be performed for the departed soul.
The amount was handed over to the bereaved family members during a simple function organized by TDC at its office located within the building of Hotel Yaisana at Gandhi Avenue here today.
Meanwhile, Ramesh Prasad, the owner of the truck driven by late Gobardhan, reportedly came to the office of TDC this morning and discussed with TDC members on the needful to be done in favour of the deceased family.
It may be mentioned that after the incident of death of Gobardhon came to light, Ramesh Prasad had been absconding and refused to make himself available at the office of TDC despite repeated appeals.
Accordingly, TDC had threatened to file a criminal case against him if he does not turn up at 11 am today.
