Trial of RIMS dental chair case

Saunen Gop, sales manager of Dentsply Sirona Kolkata, today, gave his submission as prosecution number 4 of the special trial against former RIMS Director, Dr Sinam Sekharjit and four others in connection with alleged financial irregularities in the purchase of RIMS dental chairs .
47 year old Saunen Gop was working as Assistant General Manager of Unicorn Denmark in the year 2013 and used to look after sales and marketing of dental items and equipment of the company .
Saunen Gop submitted that in the year 2013, Subendra Mukherjee, one of the accused of the case, approached the company for the rate and catalogue of the company without any purpose of taking those things from their company and Subendra Mukherjee had contacted their head office and placed a supply order of 38 dental chairs for RIMS Hospital.
According to the submission, Unicorn Denmark had also participated in the tender process of dental chair on finding tender notice of RIMS but the actual requirement of dental chairs was not mentioned anywhere in the tender notice of RIMS .
His submission as prosecution witness was cross examined by the defense counsels of Subendra Mukherjee and Dr Sinam Sekharjit .
After the submission examination and cross examination of Saunen Gop, the Court discharged him and fixed September 20 for further hearing of the prosecution witness .
During the trial, all the accused, except Dr Elangbam Devendro, were present before the Court .
Those present included former RIMS Director, Dr Sinam Sekharjit of Singjamei Chingamakha, Principal of RIMS Dental College and Hospital, Dr Rajiv Ratan Sukala from Uttar Pradesh, Chief Account Officer cum Advisor, RIMS, Elangbam Devendro, former Superintendent of RIMS, Haobam Shanti of Wangkhei Khunou and proprietor of M/S Mukherjee Enterprises, Subendra Mukherjee of Kolkata.
