Imphal, July 22 2019:
Anguished by the State Govern- ment's inaction over the controversial death of Ning-thoujam Babysana inside a hostel room of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School, Canchipur, the busy road stretch from Khoya-thong traffic point to Thang- meiband THAU Ground was blocked partially today.
The protest demonstration of blocking the road was staged under the aegis of the JAC constituted in connection with the death of Babysana.
Speaking to media persons by the sideline of the protest demonstration, JAC convenor S Chittaranjan decried that the Government has been giving assurances to hand over the case of Babysana to CBI without taking up any action till date.

As the Government has failed to fulfil its own assurances, the JAC and the people of Thangmeiband would launch intense modes of agitation from tomorrow, he said.
Notably, Babysana was found hung to death inside a hostel room of her school on July 18.It has been learnt that post mortem report has been submitted to the concerned authority but police have been saying informally that it was a case of suicide.
Such remark though informal has further enraged the JAC as well as a large section of people, said the JAC convenor.
Thangmeiband United Club president Pratap Leishangthem said that the club and the JAC have been waiting for the Government to act on its own assurances so as to avoid any major public uproar over the controversial death.
Now the people's tolerance limits have been crossed and it is a matter of grave concern that no one from the school authority has been pulled up till date in connection with the death of Babysana, Pratap said.
The Education Minister has not yet issued a single statement on the suspicious death of the young student and this is highly condemnable.
As such, people of Thangmeiband have resolved to teach the incumbent Government a befitting lesson, Pratap said He also appealed to all student organisations not to keep silent on the issue but join the protest agitation spearheaded by the JAC.
As for the Thangmeiband United Club, it would extend full support to the course of action taken up by the JAC, he assured.
Urging the State Government to hand over Babysana's case to CBI, he warned that intense modes of agitation would be launched from tomorrow if no positive response is received from the Government by tonight.
He also appealed to CSOs and the general public to support the JAC's course of action.
