Covid awareness programmes held

The Manipur University Alumni Association (MUAA), Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Manipur State Branch in collaboration with the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell and NSS units of Manipur University (MU) conducted two day awareness programme on 'Community Preparedness for COVID-19 3rd Wave' from 21 to 22 August at the adopted villages of MU.
A press release by MUAA informed that on the first day, the programme was conducted at the Langthabal Chingthak Community Hall hosted by the Langthabal Chingthak Youth Club.
Dr RK Nimai Singh, secretary of IRCS Manipur, Narendra Ningomba, chairman of IRCS Imphal East, Mohan Singh, president of the club and member of Hiyangthang GP and Dr Ch Ibohal Singh, Nodal Officer of UBA Cell and secretary of MUAA attended as the presidium members and spoke during the programme.
On the second day, the programme was held at Keibung Oinam Leikai Community hall organised in association with Covid Task Force Coordinating Committee (CTFCC), Kakwa.
IRCS also distributed face masks to all the participants during the event.
Also a team of MUAA led by its president Prof N Rajmohun Singh, VC of DM University handed over medical items to the Manipur University Health Care on August 18 .
The medical items- PPE kits, face masks, hand sanitizers, hand gloves and stand umbrella including those donated by L Rameshwor Meetei, chairman of State Planning Board were handed over to Dr Yureishang Eshidang, Medical Officer of the Centre.
