Covid death toll touches 2000 mark

Imphal, December 24 2021:
The State's total number of Covid deaths touched the 2000 mark on Friday as Imphal West reported one death in the last 24 hours.
The lone death updated by Covid Common Control Room on Friday was not vaccinated against the contagion.
Among the districts, Imphal West continues to top the death chart as 670 Covid deaths have alone been reported from the district while Pherzawl is at the bottom with no deaths.
In the same period (i.e last 24 hours), the State reported eight fresh Covid cases from Imphal West (5), Bishnupur (2) and Churachandpur (1) and they were confirmed at RIMS (1), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (6) .
As the eight cases were detected from among the 962 samples tested in the last 24 hours , the test positivity rate updated for the last 24 hours is 0.8 percent.
With 13 persons discharged from Home Isolation (7), JNIMS (2) and CCCs (4) today, the number of recovered cases has improved to 1,23,507 while the active cases have declined to 186 as compared to 192 updated yesterday.
Now, the recovery rate stands at 98.26 percent.
The State, on the other hand, distributed 237 D-type and 21 B type oxygen cylinders on December 23 and administered 3,932 Covid doses on the same day.
Till December 23, 55.28 percent of the State adult population has taken the first dose of Covid vaccine while another 41.53 percent have been fully vaccinated.
