Drop in detection of new cases continues with 285
Positivity rate still high at 10.3 pc

Imphal, August 22 2021:
An appreciable drop in the total number of new cases from August 21, a drop in the daily positivity rate from the previous day, drop in the number of deaths, drop in the number of tests conducted but still a matter of concern as the daily positivity rate is still way above the 5 percent mark.
Out of a total of 2771 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, Manipur returned figures of 285 new positive cases taking the daily positivity rate to 10.3 percent.
Four deaths have also been reported.
With 285 more positive cases added, the cumulative number of cases in the State has reached the 1,10,942 mark including 4,089 Central security personnel.
In a statement, the COVID-19 Common Control Room said that the 285 new cases include on Central security personnel and out of the 284 civilians, 157 are women.
The 285 new cases were detected while testing at RIMS (9), JNIMS (12), District Hospitals (177) and other testing centres (87).On the other hand four more persons fell victim to the virus in the last 24 hours.
The deceased belonged to Imphal West (3) and Imphal East (1).Out of the 4, two persons had co-morbidities and none of them had received their vaccination shots, said the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee.
With the addition of 4 more deaths the total number of deaths due to the virus has reached 1751 .
The 284 civilians who tested positive in the last 24 hours are from Imphal East (49), Imphal West (105), Thoubal (11), Bishnupur (30), Kakching (12), Ukhrul (11), Churachandpur (16), Chandel (2), Senapati (5), Tamenglong (23), Tengnoupal (1), Noney (18) and Kangpokpi (1) .
As usual, the COVID-19 Common Control Room said that necessary measures including contact tracing and containment are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 426 persons were discharged from home isolation (152), RIMS (10), JNIMS (7), CCCs (143) and CHICs (114).The cumulative number of recovered cases has now gone up to 1,05,197 including 4,056 Central security personnel and the number of active cases has gone down to 3,994 which is inclusive of 28 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate has now gone up to 94.82 percent.
On August 21, a total of 5611 persons received their vaccination jabs taking the total of vaccinated people to 14,79,663 .
This is inclusive of 3,03,297 people who have received their second dose.
A total of 2153 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 431 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
The number of beds available in different hospitals are RIMS (General beds-120, ICU-16), JNIMS (General beds-26, ICU-5), Iland Hospital, free of cost (General beds-8), MSF, Little Flower School, free of cost (ICU-11), CMC Koirengei (General beds-27, ICU-6), Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (General beds-22, ICU-3), Jivan Hospital, Kakching (General beds-16, ICU-6), Shija Hospital (General beds-30, ICU-22), Raj Medicity (General beds-64, ICU-17) .
