Daily positivity rate back to double digit count with 10 pc

The low count of new cases continues with 369 more testing positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, but the daily positivity rate has gone back to the double digit count with 10 percent.
On August 17, Manipur had recorded a daily positivity rate of 9.29 percent.
The 369 new cases were detected out of a total of 3700 samples tested in the last 24 hours to take the cumulative figure of positive cases to 1,05,236 including 4081 Central security personnel.
The State also reported six deaths due to the virus in the last 24 hours to take the total number of deaths to 1728 .
In a statement issued to the media, the COVID-19 Common Control Room quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee, said that 6 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
The deceased persons belonged to Imphal West (1), Imphal East (1), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (1), Chandel (1), and Churachandpur (1).Out of the six deceased persons, three of them had co-morbidities and two of them had received the first dose of the vaccine.
The 369 new cases include 5 Central security personnel and out of the 364 civilians, 190 were females.
The 369 cases were confirmed during testing at RIMS (32), JNIMS (28), District Hospitals (209) and other testing centres (100).The positive cases from amongst the 364 civilians are from Imphal East (76), Imphal West (135), Thoubal (18), Bishnupur (62), Kakching (15), Ukhrul (12), Churachandpur (18), Chandel (1), Senapati (1), Tamenglong (7), Tengnoupal (1), Jiribam (2), Noney (4), Pherzawl (4), Kamjong (2) and Kangpokpi (6) .
The detection of 369 new cases in the last 24 hours is the second lowest recorded so far in the month of August.
On August 16, Manipur had returned positive cases of 275 .
On the other hand a total of 578 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours, including from home isolation (231), RIMS (47), JNIMS (7), CCCs (145) and CHICs (148) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases now stands at 1,02,083 including 4016 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate has improved to 93.38 percent.
The number of active cases has also decreased to 5,506 including 60 Central security personnel.
On August 17, 4586 people received their vaccination shots to take the total number of people who have received their vaccination jabs to 15,54,182 including 2,82,877 people who have received their second dose.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1539 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 418 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
