Fresh Covid count sees 2 deaths, 272 cases
At 8.8, State logs positivity rate below 10 pc for 5 days straight

Even as the State reported 272 fresh Covid cases including 7 Central Armed Police Force personnel in the last 24 hours which is marginally lower than 299 registered on Thursday, the daily test positivity rate went up by over 1 percent at 8.8 percent against 7.6 registered the previous day.
So far, the daily test positivity rate hasn't crossed 10 percent in September, which was frequent in the previous months with 8.2, 7.6 and 8.8 percent reported in the first three days respectively.
Notably, August 30 and 31 also registered daily positivity rate below 10 percent.
The positive persons tested at RIMS (8), JNIMS (29) and other testing facilities (235) are from Imphal East (46), Imphal West (103), Thoubal (9), Bishnupur (26), Kakching (4), Ukhrul (20), Churachandpur (32), Chandel (6), Senapati (8), Tamenglong (4), Jiribam (1), Pherzawl (1) and Kangpokpi (5) .
Among the districts, Bishnupur logged the highest daily positivity rate at 11.4 percent, followed by Imphal East and Ukhrul with 11.2 and 11 percent respectively.
On the other hand, none of the samples sent from Kakching (69), Noney (3) and Tengnoupal (17) tested positive for the contagion.
Inthesame period, 1 Covid death each was reported from Imphal East and Thoubal, pushing the cumulative figure to 1,792 .
According to COVID-19 Control Room, both the deceased had co-morbidity while 1 of them was fully vaccinated.
Today, 293 persons were discharged from Home Isolation (144), RIMS (15), JNIMS (3), CCCs (94) and CHICs (37) .
The Government bulletin, however, said that 30 persons are reported as discharged only today, making the number of recovered cases 323 .
With the addition of the 272 cases, the cumulative number of positive cases now stands at 1,14,774 including 4128 Central security personnel while the number of recovered cases is 1,09,715 including 29 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate has also been improved to 95.59 percent against 95.53 reported yesterday.
In the past 24 hours, 1017 D-type and 257 B type cylinders have been distributed to different health facilities.
Altogether 5481 Covid vaccine doses were administered on September 2, pushing the cumulative doses to 1546343.The number of Covid beds as enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room is RIMS (General beds-168, ICU-19), JNIMS (General beds-40, ICU-2), Hand Hospital, free of cost (General beds-23), MSF, Little Flower School, free of cost (General beds-6, ICU-7), CMC Koirengei (General beds-30, ICU-6), Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (General beds-25, ICU-3), Jivan Hospital, Kakching (General beds-14, ICU-8), Shija Hospital (General beds-48, ICU- 30), Raj Medicity (General beds-69, ICU-17) .
