48-hr shutdown begins, eight arrested

Bishnupur, September 03 2021:
The 48-hour shutdown called against the transfer of CI College Bishnupur history teacher and failure to send replacement teacher began from Friday.
Bandh supporters blocked the road Tiddim Line at Bishnupur Bazar sector since early morning forced shutdown of shops and vendors in the district headquarters.
As part of precautionary measures taken up by police, eight bandh supporters were arrested.
The arrested persons have been identified as Hamom Nganba (20) son of Inaobi, Leishangthem Binakanta (20) son of Raghumani, Umananda Chabungbam (20) son of Romesh, all from Bishnupur ward no.11; Laishram Indrakumar (21) son of Tom ba of Bishnupur ward no 9, Thokchom Jackson (22) son of Ibohal Kwakeithel Lamdong, Yumkhaibam Roja Sahani (20) son of Md Ay ub Khan of Bishnupur ward no.2, Khumanthem Lily Devi (19) daughter of Naobi of Bishnupur ward no.9 and Apunba Nupi Lup Bishnupur District president Lourembam Pramo Devi (65) .
