Lowest TPR since July 12, new cases at 299; 6 deaths

With 299 returning positive results out of 3943 samples tested in the past 24 hours, the daily positivity rate continue to be well below the 10 percent mark with 7.6 percent today too.
This is the lowest daily positivity rate since July 12, when Manipur recorded 7 percent.
The overall daily positivity rate has been below the 10 percent mark since August 30, but some hill districts continue to pose worry with 25 returning positive results out of a total 195 samples tested in Ukhrul district logging a daily positivity rate of 12.8 .
The absolute number in Tengnoupal is just 1 but that one positive result came out of a total sample of just 7 tested and took its positivity rate for the day to 14.3 percent.
Kamjong is another district of concern with 16.7 percent as 3 out of a total sample of 18 returned positive results.
Imphal West and Imphal East continue to score high on the daily positivity rate with 59 people testing positive out of a total of 643 samples tested in Imphal East to log a daily positivity rate of 9.2 percent.
In Imphal West 139 people returned positive results out of a total of 1473 samples tested to take the daily positivity rate to 9.4 percent.
Only 6 districts out of the total 16 recorded below 5 percent on the daily positivity rate chart with Chandel recording 3.2 percent, Jiribam 0 (none tested positive out of 131 samples tested), Kangpokpi 0 (No positive case out of 100 samples tested), Noney 2.3 percent, Pherzawl 3.3 percent and Senapati 3.9 percent.
Even as the number of new cases and daily positivity rate saw an appreciable decline, Manipur reported 6 deaths in the last 24 hours, up from the one death recorded on September 1 .
Quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the COVID-19 Common Control Room said that the deceased persons were from Imphal East (2), Imphal West (1), Senapati (1), Chandel (1) and Ukhrul (1) .
Out of the six deceased persons four had co-morbidities and 2 of them had taken the first dose of the vaccine.
One had received two dose of the vaccine.
With the addition of six more, the total number of deaths due to the virus is now 1790 .
The 299 persons, all civilians who tested positive for the virus include 145 females, said the statement and added that they were tested positive at RIMS (22), JNIMS (34) and other testing centres (243) .
The persons who tested positive are from Imphal East (59), Imphal West (139), Thoubal (10), Bishnupur (11), Kakching (5), Ukhrul (25), Churachandpur (24), Chandel (2), Senapati (9), Tamenglong (9), Tengnoupal (1), Noney (1), Pherzawl (1) and Kamjong (3) .
With 299 more cases, the cumulative number of positive cases is now 1,14,502 including 4121 Central security personnel.
On the other hand 361 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (186), RIMS (10), JNIMS (11), CCCs (86) and CHICs (68) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases is now 1,09,392 including 4092 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate is 95.53 and the number of active cases is 3320 .
On September 1, 9134 people received their vaccination shots taking the total number of vaccinated people to 15,40,862 .
This is inclusive of 3,50,948 people who have received their second dose.
A total of 1061 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 300 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the district in the last 24 hours.
