Imphal, March 26 2011:
Demanding CBI enquiry into the murder of Irom Roger and resignation of Minister Nongthombam Biren on moral ground, Manipur People's Party staged a protest demonstration within their office premises today.
The MPP demonstrators put up placards which read as "Murderer Ajay Meitei's father Minister Biren must resign on moral ground", "Murderer Ajay must be awarded exemplary punishment", "SPF Government which cannot maintain law and order must be abolished", "Murder case of Roger should be handed over to CBI, away from influence of the State Government" etc.
MPP president in-charge Y Mangi who participated in the demonstration said that the SPF failed in maintaining law and order.
Under the lawless administration, people are facing extreme misery and there is no truth, he said.
The SPF Government which has failed on different fronts like law and order, education, health care, infrastructure, PDS etc is no longer supported by the people, Mangi asserted.

Observing that gun licences are being issued to undeserving youngsters without reservation, Mangi alleged that personnel guards are also being provided to families of the Chief Minister without considering any criteria.
He said that memoranda would be submitted to the Prime Minister, Home Secretary, AICC president Sonia Gandhi and the Governor of Manipur demanding to sack Minister Biren from his post so that justice can be done in the murder case of Roger.
