Imphal, March 26 2011:
Mother of Irom Rojer, killed by IFCD minister's son, today demanded probe by an independent investigating agency preferably by the CBI into the murder of her son, in a representation submitted to the Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, police have obtained a 15 day judicial remand to the five accused including the minister's son N Ajay after they were produced before the Imphal west duty magistrate today evening with the expiry of the six day remand period.
Apart from the minister's son, N Ajay, his four other friends produced in the court were Th Anilkumar (27) son of Th Ashokumar of Thangmeiband Meisnam Leikai, B Rosnikumar (29) son of Lal Bihari of Brahmapur Thangapat Mapal, Puyam Sidhartha (26) son of P Biren of Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai and Soram Raj Singh (27) son of S Nabakumar of Nagamapal Soram Leirak.
The mother of Rojer, Chitra Devi, in her representation submitted today to the Chief Minister, expressed apprehension that there is a high chance of manipulating the case records under the influence of the minister or political pressure as there was no word of resignation of the IFCD minister N Biren or removing him from his post.
Chitra pointed out that the Chief Minister failed to give a positive response to the demand for resignation of N Biren.
In such a situation, justice will be denied, the mother stated in the representation praying the Chief Minister to transfer the murder case of her son to an independent investigating agency preferably to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
"That Irom Rojer is my lone son and he was shot dead by N Ajay without any reason but with the ego that he is the son of a Cabinet minister, a trend which has been spreading as an epidemic in present day society," Chitra said.
On the other hand, as part of police investigation into the case, CJM has agreed to the prayer of the Investigating Officer of the case to send the seized items for examination by forensic experts.
SDPO, Lamphel, Pushpanjali has taken over from SDPO Singjamei, Th Vikramjit Singh as the IO of the case registered with the Singjamei PS under FIR no.302/34 of IPC read with section 27 of Arms Act .
Police have seized one M-20 pistol with a magazine loaded with six live rounds, a black coloured Bolero car (MN-03P-2417) with some incriminating articles, one black armless jacket and a T-shirt (dark grey colour) reportedly worn by N Ajay on the day of committing the crime.
With the court's permission, the said seized items will be sent for forensic examination, sources said.
