National Integration cum educational tour

In its continued endeavours to engage youth, especially students, in its movement to spread awareness about literacy and development in the other parts of the country, 4/8 Gorkha Rifles of Loktak Brigade, under Red Shield Division organised a fifteen days National Intergration Tour for 40 students including 05 girls starting from March 11 and culminating with the visit to Leimakhong onMarch 26 .
Major general DS Hooda welcomed the students at Leimakhong .The students along with their parents & teachers of the schools thanked Red Shield Division for organising the tour which led to better understanding of the country by the students.
The aim of the tour was to spread the message of brotherhood & secularism which was met with success when the students interacted with their counter-parts during the tenure of the tour.
The students also had the chance to see the rich cultural heritage presented in the form age-old monuments in the various cities of the tour.
The excitement amongst the group was palpable as they visited the Rashtrapati Bhawan, Parliament House, Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Nehru Planetarium and Lotus Temple in Delhi, Taj Mahal and Sikandra Fort in Agra, Hawa Mahal and Jal Mahal in Jaipur, Indian Military Academy and Rashtriya Indian Military College in Dehradun.
They were also shown Army eqpts and given tank rides.

This exposure will afford them a chance to broaden their horizon and become aware of the opportunities awaiting them in the different parts of the country.
The students have seen the fruits of peace & development in other parts of the country and have realised the importance of having peace in Manipur and joining the main stream for development and better future.
While promoting an atmosphere of brotherhood and peace the tour will enable the students to share their experiences with the other children back in Manipur thus contributing towards development of the state through knowledge and rejecting violence of all kinds.
The visit will go a long way in moulding the young and innocent children with impressionable minds towards aligning their outlook with the national mainstream.
