The Community Care Centre, CCC for HIV/AIDs infection people open here today near Medical Gate Tamenglong District HQs with Dr Chambo Gonmei, Chief Medical Officer, Tml as guest.
The newly open centre has OPD facility with free medicines including 10 bedded hospital for both male and female.
It is to be run by NGO namely Action for Welfare and Awakening in Rural Environment, AWARE Tamenglong under Revised National AIDS Control Programme of NACO.
The Chief Medical Officer, Tamenglong announce that the ART Centre is to be open soon for the HIV/AIDs affected people of Tamenglong.
This will help them to get ART at door steps, scans CD4 whether to take ART or not, he said.
As many as 77 peoples are infected with HIV/AIDs where as many as 42 people are taking ART from Tamenglong district.
Comparing to previous years the dreadful disease of HIV/AIDs was tremendously increasing in Tamenglong District.
Speaking as chief guest speech, Dr Chambo Gonmei, the chief medical officer said that Tamenglong district has first of its kind (CCC) to give special care to the rejected people.
This centre has a big role to care for the infected people with HIV/AIDS.
He also urged all participants to spread the message that a centre is being open here at Tamenglong to give special care to the infected people with HIV/AIDS of this district.
He also assured the AWARE Tamenglong that he will give full cooperation and build up good bridge between the NGO and district hospital, Tamenglong.
"This AWARE cannot operate this centre, need support from government and general public to serve ill-fated infected with HIV/AIDs and who were rejected from the society", said Katadinrei Panmei, secretary of AWARE Tamenglong while given key note address.
