After grand inauguration by PM, process on to hand over ISBT to Transport Department
Two years down the line final touches remain

Hectic official process is reportedly on to ensure handing over of the recently inaugurated Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) to the State's Transport Department within December 30 .
According to an official of M/s Avantika, the work agency of ISBT, only the final touches remain for completion of the project, for which construction activities began two years back.
Entrusted with the task two years back, the implementing agency has so far completed the Terminus' platform work and main building while bus parking zone and flooring works are nearing completion, informed the official.
While informing that some additional works not included at the time of allotting the work order two years back have also been entrusted to the implementing agency, the official conceded that even though official documents for the additional tasks are yet to be possessed the agency has nevertheless begun construction activities.

The additional assignment include construction of eight more toilets, connecting all the structures, culvert construction for the drainage system, electrification work and road development on the western side of the ISBT complex.
It is informed that the drainage system measuring a total of 547 metres in length and construction of the new toilets are in the initial stage while major portion of the electrification assignment has been completed.
The road development task is also in the initial phase due to need for completing the land development work, confided the official.
Further disclosing that the agency has galvanised all its resources to ensure completion of the ISBT in time for the inauguration by the Prime Minister and UPA Chairman on December 3, the official expressed confidence that all the assignments mentioned in the official work order will be completed within this month.
