Hill Tribal Council(HTC) chief to contest election

Announcing that he is well placed to get the Congress ticket for the upcoming Assembly election for Tengnoupal Assembly Constituency, Hill Tribal Council president Jamang Haokip yesterday told a meeting that so far all representatives from Tengnoupal have been working only for particular communities.
Promising to set things right and work on behalf of all communities, the HTC leader said that he is confident of getting the Congress ticket and assured that if elected he would work for the welfare of all.
The meeting was held at the office of HTC, Moreh and attended by representatives of Moreh Block Chief Association, Kuki Students' Organisation, Moreh block, Kuki Women Union and Human Rights, Moreh, unit presidents/secretaries of HTCs and Moreh youth club.
Jangman Haokip said that after he became the president of HTC in 2007, no communal stand off has occurred in Moreh town and assured that he would work in the interest of all communities.
