Imphal, January 04 2022: Both teams of Tekcham Polo Club (Tekcham PC) made themselves to the semi-finals of the 2nd Thoubal District Polo Tournament being organised under the supervision of the Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association at Tekcham polo ground.

Tekcham PC-A earned their semi-final berth thrashing Ikop Ningthou Kangjei Polo Club (INKPC), Khangabok 12-4 today thanks to M Kuber (4), K Jugindro (3), S Ranjit (2), M Abhigyan (2) and S Sadananda (1).They will meet Samurou Polo Club in the first semi-final match tomorrow.

Tekcham PC-A were 6-0 ahead of the Khangabok side till halfway as M Kuber and S Ranjit added a goal apiece in the first chukker before K Jugindro scored a hattrick and M Kuber added his second goal.

M Abhigyan scored both his goals in the third chukker which also saw Kumer and Ranjit scored a goal apiece and L Bishal pulled back a goal for INKPC to make it 1-10.K Kuber then scored his fourth and final goal in the fourth chukker before his compatriot S Sadananda added his only goal while L Bishal completed his double and I Rahul chipped in the third goal for INKPC.

Tekcham PC-B on the other hand beat Thoubal District Polo Association (TDPA) 4-3 in a last chukker thriller to set up a semi-final date with Tentha Polo Club tomorrow.

Tekcham PC-B were trailing behind by a goal till the third chukker with O Santosh and O Inaobi scoring a goal each in the first and the third chukker for the TDPA and Ksh Tombi scoring the lone goal for the hosts in the third chukker.

The fourth chukker saw O Ningthemjao scoring in the 3rd minute for Tekcham PC-B to make it 2-2 before Th Kabita helped TDPA restore their lead with a goal in the 4th minute.

Tekcham PC-B, however, displayed a heroic return with O Ningthem scoring the equalizer in the 5th minute before hammering home the winner in the last minute.
