Legendary filmmaker Aribam Syam Sharma to release new book

Imphal, January 04 2022: 'Critics on Indian Cinema', a new book authored by Aribam Syam Sharma will be released online on January 6, 2022 at 7 pm.

In a statement released today, Film Society of Manipur informed that the book is published by International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI)-India chapter, in collaboration with Federation of Film Societies of India Kerala and Best Books Kolkata.

Critics on Indian Cinema is edited by MK Raghavendra and VK Joseph and is a collection of essays on cinema-mostly critical writing, that tries to take a 'pluralistic' approach, in the sense that the essays are not one of a kind, the statement added.

Out of the three sections comprising the book, the first section examines directors and their works, the second looks at aspects of Indian cinema and the third is devoted to cinema from the North East.

The statement also informed that the book contains 300 pages and is priced at Rs 600 .
