KI U-17 girls' football league begins

Imphal, February 12 2024:
The Under-17 Girls' Khelo India Football League Tournament 2024 organised by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) began from Monday at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong with the participation of six teams.
On the opening day, Youth Welfare Club (YWC-TH) edged past Eastern Sporting Union (ESU) by 2-1 margin with Chingsubam Christina of netting the ESU goal in the 17th minute goal before YWC-TH levelled the score through Kayenpaibam Anju Chanu (47th) and Namram Lamnganbi Chanu (64th) struck the winning goal.
The second match between Young Welfare Club (YWC-L) and Football Club (FC) Imphal, which ended in a 2-2 draw, saw FC Imphal taking the lead with an own goal from YWC-L defender Konthoujam Reena in 10th minute doubling the lead through Phanjoubam Abema Devi (34th) .
However, brace of goals from Sorokhaibam Lakhipiyari Devi (40+lst & 50th) ensured YWC-L split the points.
In the day's third match, Irengbam Cultural & Sports Association (ICSA) drubbed Khuman Football Academy (KFA) 6-1 with Irom Priyadashini Devi scoring five goals (14th, 57th, 60th, 70th & 79th) and Oinam Bisheshwori Devi contributing one (62nd), as Haobijam Valentina Chanu (41st) netted the KFA face saving goal.
