Ruda Academy boys clinch CBSE U-14 Football Championship title

Thoubal, September 26 2024: Ruda Academy, Thoubal were crowned champions of the CBSE Under 14 Football Championship 2024, organised by CBSE North East Guwahati Region at Guwahati, Assam.

Ruda Academy defeated all their opponents during the competition to clinch the gold medal.

Upon their return, the Ruda Academy boys were accorded a warm reception by guardians, teachers and students on Thursday.

Ruda Academy founder secretary Elangbam Sachi Singh, principal in-charge H Somorendro Singh and boarding superintendent N Basna Singh were the presidium members during the reception event.

According to team coach Asem Bonison, Ruda Academy opened their campaign with a 5-0 win over Sarla Birla Gyan Jyoti, then beat DPS Dhaligoan 2-0 to enter the quarterfinals where they defeated St Francis Narengi 4-0 .

In the semifinal, Ruda Academy dominated Gurukul Group of Education Mangoldoi 5-0 before they downed hosts NPS 3-1 in the final.

Apart from winning the tournament, Ruda Academy took the best goalkeeper, best scorer, best team coach and best manager awards.
