SCCC, Al-Ameen split points in tied match

Imphal, March 31 2024:
SCCC (Singjamei Thongam Leikai) and Al-Ameen (Lilong) played out a tie in Sunday's action of the MNCA Elite Tournament at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Imphal.
Put in to bat, SCCC made 105/7 in 18 overs in a rain-curtailed match.
Ulenyai Khwairakpam top scored for the Singjamei side with 44, followed by Roshan Das (29) and Pradeep Singh Takhellambam (10) .
For Al-Ameen, Habibul-lah Ahammed scalped three wickets, Najarul Islam picked up two and Mohammed Shamir Khan took one.
In their response, the Lilong squad failed to score past their opponents after being stopped at 105/8 in 18 overs, resulting in a tie.
Nawaz (49), Khulakpam Shahadat Ali (22) and Mohd Sagir Ahamed (12) were the main run-getters in their chase.
For SCCC, Sandeep Chakraborty caused significant damage to the Al-Ameen lineup by taking four wickets, while Rakeshwor Republic Hidangmayum and Roshan Das each claimed one.
Both SCCC and Al-Ameen are languishing in the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, both matches pitting PTCC against PTRC and CRAU against REYS were abandoned due to unplayable field conditions.
CYCLONE lead the standings with 10 points from their five games as PTRC trail with nine points from six matches and REYS occupy third spot with eight points from five matches.
