Manipur emerge overall team champions of 23rd Sub Junior National Wushu Championships

Manipur were crowned overall team champions of 23rd Sub-Junior National Wushu Championships securing as many as 18 gold, 13 silver and 18 bronze medals.
The championship held from March 26 concluded today at Jammu University.
The athletes who won gold medals at the championship are RK Lanchenbi (one gold medal apiece in Changquan, Nandao and Daoshu), Nameirakpam Athoibi (one gold medal in Nangun), Linthoingambi Laitonjam (one gold medal in Taijiquan), Nongmaithem Nikhil (one gold medal in Qiangshu), Yaingakpa Thangjam (one gold medal in Daoshu), Khumukcham Hulison (one gold medal each in Gunshu and Changquan), Ronald Hanjabam (one gold medal in Nandao), Nganthoiba Nongmaithem (a gold medal apiece in Form 42 Taijiquan and Taijijian events) in Taolu competition for Group B girls and boys'.
In the Group C Taolu competition, Nameirakpam Ahenbi (one gold medal each in Daoshu and Changquan), Chingkheihunba Salam (one gold medal in Jianshu), Laitonjam Tomthinganba (one gold medal in Qiangshu) too emerged on top to win gold medals.
The athletes who won silver medals in the Group B Taolu competitions at the championships are Mangsatabam Britain (Nanquan and Nandao), Nongmaithem Nikhil (Changquan and Jianshu), Yaingakpam Thangjam (Gunshu), Kh Huhlison (Daoshu) and Reinold Hanjabam (Nanquan) as Chingkheihunba Salam (Changquan and Qiangshu), Laitonjam Tomthinganba (Jianshu) and Koijam Lanchenba (Daoshu and Gunshu) bagged silver medals in Group C Taolu competitions.
Bronze medallists at the championship in the meantime include Leimapokpam Pinky (Qiangshu), Linthoingambi Laitonjam (Form 42 Taijijian) and Yaingakpam Thangjam (Changquan) in Group B Taolu events and Khoirom Anamika (Gunshu), Yumnam Nganba (Jianshu) and Koijam Lanchenba (Changquan) in Group C Taolu events.
Further in the traditional competitions, Bikash Leitam won a gold medal each in the Taijiquan and Taijijian events as Sanaroj Thongram bagged a silver medal in the Taijijian event and Pricena Telem bagged a Taijijian bronze medal.
Meanwhile in the Sanda competitions for U-14 girls, Koijam Yaisana (56 kg) won a silver as Y Priya (52 kg), Babina Angom (48 kg) and Athokpam Gracy (45 kg) bagged bronze medals.
