Imphal, January 29 2018: TCMDC, Thongju secured a 3 wicket victory over KIYC, Kshetrigao while MODEL CLUB, Chingamakha defeated CYCLONE, Thangmeiband by 20 runs in today's league matches of the 1st Heibok T-20 Cricket Tournament which is currently underway at Langthabal Public Ground under the supervision of Manipur Cricket Association.

In the first Group B league match of the day, TCMDC won the toss and offered KIYC to bat first.

Kingson of KIYC started off the game hitting 33 off 34 balls.

However, other batsmen in the top order could not produce a bright side and went out with single digit runs or below 20 as they could not face the raging bowlers of the Thongju side.

Nisikanta, Kurban contributed 12 runs and 10 runs respectively in this innings.

They managed to pile up 105 runs for all wickets down in 19.3 overs.

Tuljit of TCMDC enjoyed a four-wicket haul while Sheitendra, Nganthoi and Vivekananda picked two wickets each in the first inning.

The second inning was almost similar to the first inning.

The only difference was that the batsmen who came out on the field contributed equal efforts though they scored fewer runs to reach the target in 19.4 overs for 7 wicket down.

Nganthoi scored 13 runs in 12 balls while Sheitendra and Suraj made 12 runs in the chase.

Baquee of KIYC claimed two wickets while Abdul Hamid, Abdullah and Nishikanta picked one wicket each in this inning.

Tuljit of TCMDC was declared man of the match.

In another Group B league match, MODEL CLUB, Chingmakha who won the toss and chose to bat first racked up 144 as Tejkumar punished the bowlers of the Thangmeiband side to hit 29-ball 59 in the first inning.

Iboyaima and Dhamen also scored 25 runs and 19 runs respectively helping MODEL CLUB to set up the target of 145 runs losing 4 wickets in 20 overs.

The dominant CYCLONE had a disappointing day as both the bowling and batting fronts produced a lacklustre performance.

Somorjit picked 2 wickets in 4 overs while Sourav Maity and William dismissed one each in 2 overs and 3 overs allotted to them.

In reply, they succumbed at just 124 runs for 7 in 20 overs handing MODEL CLUB a 20 run victory.

Sunil scored the highest 22 runs off 21 balls in this inning while Narsingh and Sourav Maity gathered 20 runs and 19 runs each.

Bishorjit of MODEL CLUB proved dangerous for CYCLONE today during the chase as he dismissed 4 Wickets offering 24 runs in 4 overs.

Iboyaima, Mangi and Tejkumar then went on to claim 1 wicket each and helped in restricting the chase to a paltry 124 runs Tejkumar who hammered 59 runs was declared man of the match.
