NAPSA veterans claim cricket tourney title

Imphal, January 14 2024:
NAPSA, Kha-Imphal claimed the title of the 20th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament by defeating YWC-L, Langthabal by 5 wickets.
In the final match at Langthabal Public Ground on Sunday, NAPSA won the toss and elected to field.
YWC-L reached 180/9 in 30 overs riding on Sasi's half-century (58), Prakashmani (41), Ashakta alias Rojesh (23) and Ashokumar (23) .
For NAPSA, Bhogen scalped 4 YWC wickets followed by Simon with two wickets as Gopal and Johny accounted for a wicket each.
In reply, NAPSA scored 181 in 28.4 overs losing only five wickets with L Premananda leading the chase (65 not out) and eventually bagging the Man of the Match award.
Ratan (48 not out), Simon (23) and Bipin (22) were the other notable contributors to the run chase.
T Bhogendro of NAPSA was adjudged Man of the tournament and Best Batsman, while Highest wicket-taker honour went to Bedamohan of SHADOW (12 wickets) .
