Runners up of IA Cup Saikul Area felicitated

Saikul Area, the runners up of the second edition of Inter Area Cup, 2018 were felicitated today at Keithelmanbi (Military Colony) in Kangpokpi District in the presence of the organizing committee, various CSOs of the areas, church leaders and village chiefs.
Almost a month long second edition of the IA Cup was culminated yesterday at Sahlang Lentol in Keithelmanbi (Military Colony) where Saikul Area sheltered with the runner up title after losing to Motbung Area via tie-break.
The champions team Motbung Area received a whooping prize money of Rs 1 lakh with a trophy and best player award to its striker Thangjoylen while the runner up Saikul Area received a cash prize of Rs 70,000 with a trophy and top scorer award to its striker Paolenlal for his 7 goals.
Evan, Haopu Khongsai attended the felicitation ceremony as minister at Nanao Inn at Keithelmanbi (Military Colony) while Lamminthang Kipgen, the local MDC who is also the team Manager of Saikul Area also attended the function.
Speaking at the function, the organizing committee of the IA Cup said that the tournament was introduced with an aim to promote the quality and outlook of Games and Sports among the youths of Kangpokpi district as well as to build a platform for those unemployment youths who have talent and determination in the field of sports.
"Discipline and sanctity are the key factors for any sportsperson to scale to the pinnacle", asserted Evan.
Haopu Khongsai who encourages the players of Saikul Area to maintain discipline and sanctity in their life so as to become a successful footballer in future.
He also invoke thanksgiving and blessing prayer for the runner up team while dedicating the customary offering made by Lhingboi Kipgen as mark of thanksgiving to the Almighty.
Lamminthang Kipgen, MDC and Saikul Area team manager and coach disbursed the appreciation gift to all the players while the runners up trophy and top scorer award was hand over to the team during the function.
Various local civil bodies including Keithelmanbi Village Authority and Keithelmanbi Youth Association also attended the felicitation ceremony.
A jubilant feast mark the occasion.
