Thoubal, May 28 2018:
Demanding a tighter regulation to check influx of illegal immigrants in the State and unconditional release of locals arrested in connection with a viral video made by non-locals which incite communal hatred, Reformist Students' Front (RSF) staged a protest at Wangjing Bazar Monday.
Denouncing the arrest of the locals instead of those who made the video that went viral on social media, RSF condemned the State Government for its inaction and failure to arrest the 'real perpetrators' who incite communal hatred by making the video.
Large number of people including women blocked half the National Highway No 102 and demanded immediate release of the locals without any conditions attached.
Eight persons including PRJA convenor Erendro Leichombam were arrested by the police in connection with the hate video.
