RCA, AKSDO, TCMDC and PTRC enter 4th MNCA Men's U19 One Day Trophy semis

RCA, Lilong; AKSDO, Khangabok: TCMDC, Thongju Part II Pechu Lampak; and PTRC, Patsoi Part IV are into the semifinals of the ongoing 4th MNCA Men's UI9 One Day Trophy.
RCA made it to the semifinals today with a mammoth 245-run quarterfinal victory over CDCC, Sagolband Salam Leikai today.
Zuned, who produced a stellar performance in the prequarterfinal encounter against KCC, put front his scoring and wicket taking ability to set up the 245 run victory for RCA at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground this morning.
RCA elected to bat first and raised a huge total of 298 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 40 overs thanks to half century quickfires from Zuned and Naesh Hussain.
Zuned smashed 6 fours and 8 sixes on the way to his 45-ball 93 while Naesh Hussain added 84 runs off 78 balls laden with 5 fours and 2 sixes.
Naesh and Md Alfash (32/ 42 balls) raised 111 off 106 runs for the first wicket to give RCA a solid start before Md Safwan (21/20) and Zuned combined for a remarkable 117-run fourth wicket partnership off 65 balls to further push the run rate.
Devis returned with the best bowling figures of 3/87 for CDCC in 8 overs while Venson Yumnam and Venison Yumnam picked a wicket apiece.
Chasing the daunting total, only Devis on 22 off 39 balls emerged as the only double digit run getter for CDCC as Zuned enjoyed a fifer (5/15 in 7.2 overs) and Naesh claimed four wickets (4/20 in 8 overs) to dismantle them for just 53 runs in 21.2 overs.
Zuned was eventually named player of the match.
AKSDO outlast TRAU by 48 runs in a clash of bowlers
In the second quarterfinal encounter staged at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, AKSDO posted a 48 run victory over TRAU.
AKSDO opted to bat first but slumped to 107 all out in 29.3 overs before their bowling department turned things around by bundling out TRAU for 59 runs within 15.1 overs.
Kh Korounganba 37 and Chingamba Elangbam 20 led the scoring for AKSDO in the first innings that saw TRAU's Keisham Yaikhomba (2/8), Preethson Arubam (2/23), and Anderson Keisham (2/17) sharing 6 crucial wickets.
TRAU however found the target too big as Saikhom Kaiku and Saikhom Dinesh proved fatal right from the onset of the chase before Chingamba Elangbam ripped the tailenders.
Mutum Swabhiman made the highest 27 off 13 balls as the rest of the batters ended up either on ducks or on single digits.
Saikhom Kaiku returned with the best bowling figures of 3/14 in his spell of 5 overs as Saikhom Dinesh (3/24 in 4 overs) and Chingamba (3/7 in 2.1 overs) too scripted three wicket hauls.
Saikhom Kaiku was adjudged player of the match for his leading bowling performance.
TCMDC see off YWC by 13 runs
Elsewhere at Khudeiband Lampak, TCMDC, Thongju pulled off a 13-run victory over YWC, Langthabal to make it to the semis.
Asked to bat first, TCMDC were bundled out for 112 runs in 27.4 overs despite Rain Urikhinbam's half century knock (72 runs off 60 balls; 6 fours and 5 sixes) but the target proved to big to YWC as they slumped to 99 all out in 33.4 overs.
Leishangthem Chingthang (4/24), Pukhrambam Roshan (2/27 in 6 overs), and Yumnam Achouba (2/8 in 4 overs) led the incisive YWC bowling attack but Laishram Valindra (3/20 in 8 overs), Yumnam Tomthinnganba (3/27 in 8 overs), and Rain Urikhinbam (2/18 in 8 overs) ran riot to dismiss YWC for 99 runs within 33.4 overs.
Rain Urikhimbam, who produced an allround heroics, was adjudged player of the match.
PTRC knock out AMCA by 5 wickets
The day also saw PTRC thump AMCA, Thoubal by 5 wickets at Moijing Public Ground to complete the semifinal line up.
PTRC bowled out toss winners AMCA for 76 runs in 22.4 overs riding on Laitonjam James (3/15 in 4.4 overs), Kenan Khumanthem (2/1 in 1 over) and Ngashepam Shivason (2/16 in 4 overs) before fighting their way to the winning 78/5 in 16.4 overs with Bedabiyas Pheiroijam (17 not out off 28 balls) leading from the front.
MM Yakin returned with the best bowling figures of 2/17 in 3.4 overs for AMCA in a lost cause.
Laitonjam James, who picked three wickets and was unbeaten on 4 off 2 balls with Bedabiyas, was adjudged player of the match.
