MNCA U-19 Men Cricket Tournament : Somokanta's five-for in vain as RULE succumb to 141-run defeat

Somokanta enjoyed a five wicket haul for RULE, Meitram but his effort went in vain as AKSDO, Khangabok defended their total of 208 runs to seal an huge 141 run victory in a Group C match of the 2nd MNCA U-19 Men Cricket Tournament at Khangbok Cherapur Public Ground.
RULE won the toss and opted to field first.
They had a purposeful start with Somokanta removing both the openers early on the way to his five wicket haul (5/15 in 6.3 overs) .

However, Waikhom Kaiku (65 off 52 balls, 9 fours and 2 sixes), Winchelly Laishram (60 off 48 balls, 8 fours and 2 sixes) and Borish Khundrakpam (38 off 58) played their part well to inspire AKSDO a total of 208 runs for all wickets down in 39.3 overs.
Zenith Nongmaithem (2/24) and Rojit Angomcha (2/45) also shared four wickets for RULE in this innings before they faltered in the chase and succumbed for 67 runs in 26.5 overs as Saikhom Lanchenba (4/13), Saikhom Kaiku (3/11) and Laishram Nungshiba (2/16) tore their batting line up.
At Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, Naeem Amamed picked 6-wickets to dismiss SHADOW for 110 in 23.4 overs and hand Al-Ameen, were bowled out for a lowly total of 137 runs, by 27 runs in a clash of bowlers.
Naeem Ahamed had contributed 50 off 65 runs in Al-Ameen's tally before Naoshekpam Manglemba scored 57 off 67 deliveries for SHADOW in a lost cause.
N Manglemba, Reolin Oinam, Sapam Bikash, James Sahu and S Lanchenba all picked two wickets for SHADOW in the Group D match.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal, PCC, Mayoikoibi registered an 8-wicket win over YPHUC in a low scoring Group B encounter.
YPHUC were bowled out for 76 runs in 17.5 overs as Lucky Thokchom (3/5), Pravin Kumar (2/5), M Lucky (2/5) and Anjan (2/16) wreaked havoc for PCC before Lucky Thokchom and T Vikash scored identical 16 runs to finish off the chase with 8 wickets left to spare in 8.1 overs.
The group A encounter between YUCC-Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai and CYCLONE-Thangmeiband at Lairenjam Public Ground also turned out to be a quick game as CYCLONE took 14.3 overs to reach a target of 73 runs for three wickets.
Shinoj Khwairakpam picked 6-wickets to bundle out YUCC for 72 runs in 20.2 overs before Binson Laithangbam 23 led the chase for CYCLONE.
