Imphal, February 12, 2011: Junior team coach of an English football club namely Richard Alderson has expressed confidence that some players of Th Birchandra Singh Football Academy have the potential to represent India in future.

Interacting with a group of newspersons on the sideline of a coaching camp currently underway at the Tabungkhok ground of the Academy today, junior team coach of Preston North End club Richard described as committed and talented young footballers attending the coaching camp being conducted under his supervision.

The 52-year old Richard Alderson from London, who is married to a State native, stated that most of the Academy players have shown signs of commitment and discipline, some of the essential criteria to excel in the world's most popular sports discipline.

He also described regular training, maintaining fitness level and improving skill and technique as important aspects to become a professional footballer.

While conceding that he has limited knowledge regarding standard of football in Manipur, Alderson nevertheless noted the fact that the national team of India has many players from Manipur.
