A team of the Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) led by its chairperson A Nabachandra Singh and six members have on Saturday visited Shija hospital to see the conditions of the students who are hospitalised there after having a road mishap on July 3 last, conveyed it in a press note.
It may be recalled that the school van of the Evergreen Flower School, Thoubal Ningombam had collided with a truck and one student succumb to the road mishap while 16 other children were seriously injured.
The press note further mentioned that all the hospitalised children are in critical condition.
Out of the injured students, five students are likely to remain disabled.
In this matter, the commission observed that the accident was occurred due to the negligence of the drivers of the van and truck and the commission has asked the Motor Vehicle department to fix responsibility and mentioned that Motor Vehicle Department have not followed the recommendations of the Commission in Sue Moto care No 4 of 2013, it said.
