SFs recover, safely explode IED

Thoubal, September 26 2024: A combined team of Nongpok Sekmai police station and 4 Assam Rifles stationed at Somrei recovered "a powerful IED found beside a road near Salam Patong village under Nongpok Sekmai police station around 4 pm Thursday.

The combined team, which included bomb experts, later safely detonated the IED at site itself.

Till the time of filing this the report, the police are yet to ascertain who or why the IED was placed in an area settled by Kukis before outbreak of the ongoing conflict.
