Imphal, September 25 2015 : Awareness rally
With an aim to spread awareness on cleanliness and to promote the Swacch Bharat Mission in and around Imphal East district, a rally on cleanliness was organised by Imphal East PHED today.

Flagged off from Porompat DC Office by Imphal East DC M Joy Singh, locals and officials of various State Departments located in Imphal East district participated in the campaign rally.

Literary meet concludes
The 20th Manipur University Inter College Literary Meet 2015, organised by Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU) under the theme, 'nationalism and patriotism', has concluded at varsity's centenary hall today.

MU Registrar Prof N Lokendra, retired Judge C Upendra and MUSU president S David attended the closing function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

Prizes for different competitions were distributed at the function.

ALT condoles former top cop
Anal Lenruwl Taangpi (ALT) has deeply condoled the demise of former Superintendent of Police JS Moren Anal.

In a statement, ALT remembered Moren Anal as a dedicated and God fearing police officer and deacon of Anal Baptist Church, Imphal.

Saying that his demise is an irreparable loss for the Anal community, ALT shared the grief and pain of the bereaved family.

National sanitation camp launched
District Water and Sanitation Committee, Bishnupur, on Friday, launched the National Sanitation Campaign at the PHE Division office, Bishnupur district headquarters.

Bishnupur zilla parishad up-adhyaksha A Brojen; District Swachh Bharat Mission co-ordinating committee president and Saiton GP pradhan S Samungou; PHE, Bishnupur AEs K Bishwajit and L Gokulchandra graced the launch event as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

PREPAK(Pro) refutes
The proscribed PREPAK(Pro) has refuted any connection whatsoever between the outfit and Suresh Tamang alias Boy (35) s/o Gopal Tamang of Langol and Thokchom Bishworjit alias Motombi (35) s/o Th Birjit of Kwakeithel Thokchom Leikai who were reportedly arrested by security forces from different places, conveyed a press release issued by the outfit's senior publicity officer Melei.
