Imphal, April 27:
Contd from previous issue.
When the public commits itself to save the land then no machination from anyone can destroy the people, said Achou and added that the public need to infuse work culture.
The money that is pumped in by the Indian Government should be used to build assets while forgoing the consumerist culture.
With determination and diligence, the people can build their capabilities, said the chairman and added that the money from outside can be used to formulate an economic policy suited to the land and the people.
The policy to subdue the people with wrong education policy can be turned on its head, provided the public are willing to do so.
Policies can also be formulated to guide the youngsters and groom them to be assets of the land.
The culture of drugs and the spread of AIDS can be checked if the public put its mind to it, advised Achou.
There is also the pressing need for the intellectuals and leaders of the civil society organisations to educate the public on what needs to be done to bring the people at par with others.
Let the public leaders also do the same and the result will be positive.
It will also be wrong on the part of the revolutionary organisations to forget its social duty while concentrating on the armed struggle, opined Achou and added that this should be rectified.
Reviving the economic policy of the land, infusing work culture, cutting down on expenses, promoting the philosophy of high thinking, plain living, expelling the culture of consumerism, reviving the lost social capital, banning intoxicants, improving the education system, building knowledge capital, fostering community feeling, etc are the need of the hour.
The revolutionaries need to follow the path of true revolutionaries, said Achou and added that there is not much interest in striking a united stand.
Many problems have arisen because many revolutionaries are wont keep the interest of their organisation above the interest of unity of all groups.
The revolutionaries are yet to realise that if there are problems for the movement as a whole then the loss will also mean the loss of all organisations.
The clash of interest amongst the different armed groups, the failure to see eye to eye on many issues, the race to outsmart the others etc are all problems presently being faced.
Short term measures can never solve these issues, said the KYKL leader and urged all to forget the petty differences and instead look towards putting up a united front of all the groups in the North East.
The time has come to set big goals, said Achou and opined that once a united front becomes a reality then all the petty differences will resolve themselves.
This will also solve the problem of emergence of ethnic based armed groups.
Those who are under the impression that the suffering of the people will vanish if the armed struggle is called off are way off the track, said Achou and said that such views reflect lack of far sightedness, not knowing the reality as well as not being logical.
