Kpi, April 19 2018:
An educated
unemployed youth from Sita
village in Tengnoupal district,
Lalcha celebrated his 28th
birthday today by releasing a
novel, which he composed
through his mobile phone.
The young promising
writer celebrated his birthday
last year with more than 415
articles of his own which were
composed through his mobile
phone and this time, he cel-
ebrated his birthday with his
fiction novel which he com-
posed by his mobile phone
along with 500 write-ups.
His write-ups including
poems and inspiration quotes
in Thadou-Kuki dialect mainly
emphasized on role of youths
and student community, their
responsibilities, behaviours,
discipline in society, spiritual
life, patriotism, education, etc.
Lalcha began promoting his
write-ups, poems and stories
in social media including
facebook and WhatsApp not
with an intention to gain popu-
larity but to enhance the
concept of using social media
for a good cause by the youth
and make them realize their
vital role and responsibilities
as a youth.
The fifth among the seven
sibling of M Doukholun
Haokip and Ngaitin Haokip,
M Paominlal Haokip (fondly
and popularly known as M
Lalcha Haokip) did all his
write-ups including the
newly released novel only
through his mobile phone as
he could not afford to buy
even the cheapest computer
or laptop with his small earn-
ing as a private teacher-cum-
warden at Pallel.
But Lalcha is proud
enough and happy to let his
younger brother complete his
graduation by this June apart
from helping his deprived
parents with his meagre earn-
ing.
M Lalcha Haokip's first
novel titled, "Henu Kanao
Akap'e", a fiction story in
Thadou-Kuki dialect was re-
leased today on his 28th
birthday celebration cum
commemoration of his 500+
write-ups by Pastor
Mangjapao Haokip, Gambih
Pastor KBC No 16.
On being asked about the
novel and his inspiration, the
young writer who represented
the Thadou-Kuki community
in the North Eastern Literary
Festival at Guwahati organ-
ized by Sahitya Akademy,
New Delhi recalled a picture
which he found in facebook
that speaks a lot to him.
He said, "A picture of a
boy carrying his brother on
his back, standing on the hilly
village road, hanging his slip-
per on both of his arms in a
sentimental condition" was
the moment when the words
'Henu Kanao Akap'e',
meaning "Mother, my
brother is crying" struck his
mind and inspired him to
write the fiction novel.
"A picture can speak a lot
and can motivate a human be-
ing", asserted M Lalcha
Haokip while adding that in
a society where social media
dominates, one should be
careful enough to upload or
post indecent images since it
can corrupt the minds of
many youth.
M Lalcha Haokip also ap-
pealed the youths not to use
social media and other gadg-
ets for destruction of their
career but motivated them to
use it as an important tool
and a platform which will
prove fruitful to them in the
future.
