UNC team leaves for talks with Amit Shah

Imphal, September 15 2026: A team of the United Naga Council (UNC) left Senapati for Delhi today to talk with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Sources said that the UNC team led by its president Ng Lorho will talk with Amit Shah on the current crisis of Manipur.

Following the brutal murder and dismembering of six Konsakhul villagers after they were abducted from Leilon Vaiphei village on May 13, 2026, the UNC was enforcing a counter blockade against transportation of essential commodities and other items to Kuki areas.

Now, the UNC is enforcing an indefinite economic blockade on National Highways.

Maintaining that the main accused of the gruesome murder is KNF-P leader Thangboi Kipgen, husband of Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen, the UNC has been demanding the arrest of Thangboi Kipgen and removal of Nemcha Kipgen from the post of Deputy Chief Minister.

Demanding justice for the six Naga civilians butchered in the most barbaric manner by KNF-P, the mortal remains of the victims have not been claimed till date and they are lying in JNIMS morgue.

According to the sources, the UNC team will talk with and press upon the Union Minister to translate their demands into action.

The UNC team boarded a flight from Dimapur to Delhi today but it could not be confirmed yet when they will meet Amit Shah.

Nonetheless, it is said that the UNC team may hold a meeting with the Union Home Minister in the next couple of days.
