Police remand extended for 5 days

The Special Court of NIA, Imphal West has sent 13 persons whom the police claim are members of KCP (People's War Group) to police custody for five more days till April 5, today.
The police arrested them from two houses located at Loitang Sandam on March 23 .
All 13 of them were produced before the Court through video conferencing today on completion of their police custody period and the police prayed before the Court to remand them in their custody for some more days.
The IO of the case, through a Special PP, submitted that the police received specific information about some cadres of KCP (PWG) engaging in prejudicial activities such as extortion, kidnapping and training of new recruits on March 23 at around 12.10 am.
The suspected cadres of KCP (PWG) were arrested from two houses located at Loitang Sandam along with arms and ammunition.
The Special PP, based on the police prayer, submitted that all the accused persons are members of KCP (PWG) and they have been indulging in prejudicial activities.
The Court after hearing the submission of the Special PP, the accused and on perusal of the material on record remanded 13 of them to police custody till April 5 .
