BJP Manipur Pradesh has accused the rival Congress party of politicising the Manipur crisis instead of working to resolve the crisis and bring development in the State.

He also rejected former Chief Minister and CLP leader Okram Ibobi's assertion that BJP's has a hidden agenda with regard to the protracted crisis.
He went on claim that certain activities of the Congress party based on communal politics sowed the seeds of the present crisis.
The statements made by Okram Ibobi who served as the Congress Chief Minister of Manipur for 15 years were unjustified and ridiculous, Asnikumar remarked.
His statements did not reflect his political experience of 15 long years rather they smacked of immaturity, he said.
It appears that the Ibobi has overlooked the hardships endured by the people of Manipur during his prolonged tenure.
While he may have forgotten, the people of Manipur certainly have not, the BJP spokesman said.
As many as 1528 extrajudicial killings occurred in Manipur between 1980 and 2011 under Congress rule.
Now the CBI is currently investigating 97 instances Of such killings that took place between 2000 and 2011 during Ibobi's tenure as the Chief Minister, he pointed out.
People have not forgotten the numerous instances of bandhs, blockades, rampant corruption and extortions witnessed in Manipur during the 15 years of Congress rule, he said.
A large number of people were subjected to harassment and persecution under the shadow of AFSPA but today the BJP Government has removed AFSPA from most parts of Manipur, Asnikumar said.
He then appealed to the Congress party not to indulge in unfounded election propaganda instead of working to bring peace in the State.
He also called upon the Congress party to work collectively towards resolving the current crisis.
He exuded confidence that the crisis can be resolved if all the people, parties and stakeholders work collectively.
He further appealed to all the people to help the Government and BJP in their efforts to bring a solution to the protracted crisis.
Asnikumar also talked about different development projects and welfare schemes taken up by the BJP Government.
He went to claim that more and more countries are putting their faith in BJP.
