Imphal, April 01 2024:
The proscribed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak-Progressive (PREPAK-Pro) has announced that it will temporarily stop collection of donation in kind or cash from some sections of people.
According to a PREPAK-Pro statement, the present crisis in Kangleipak (Manipur) has severely affected economy of the commoners but some people posing as patriots are collecting donation from public independently.
There are also reports of some revolutionary groups collecting donation from public without valid reasons which PREPAK-Pro believe is unreasonable as exerting pressure on the public amidst the distressful situation would be detrimental to the revolutionary movement, cautioned the statement issued by its assistant publicity secretary L Ningshingba.
In view of the prevailing situation and economic conditions of the people, the outfit decided to exempt collection of donation in kind or cash from shops owned by indigenous people, doctors serving people sincerely and wealthy social workers.
However, the party will continue to collect donation from government departments, people indulging in illegal businesses, black marketers, private schools and those who are capable of contributing donation as the party requires fund to continue the ongoing war being fought together with the people, the PREPAK-Pro statement said, adding that the party will seek donation through the letter heads of the outfit only.
