Leima Chanu Nawa Tengbang Lup celebrates foundation day

The 5th Foundation Day of Leima Chang Nawa Tengbang Lup was celebrated on Sunday at its office in Singjamei Chingamathak Chongtham Leikai.
It was attended by Leima Chanu Nawa Tengbang Lup advisor & Shija Academy of Medical Sciences, HOD, Dr Sorokhaibam Bheigyabati; Leima Chanu Nawa Tengbang Lup president Th Renubala and secretary Kh Shantibala as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bheigyabati said that Leima Chanu Nawa Tengbang Lup is a State level women organisation which was formed on March 31, 2017 with the main objectives - 'Care and support treatment' and 'Defend Yourself' .
She continued that the Lup was established following the Nirbhaya incident of 2012 which left the entire country shocked at the horrific nature of the crime.
Dr Bheigyabati asserted that under the 'Care and treatment', the Lup has been conducting awareness & health camps for HIV/AIDS affected women.
She also shared that the Lup has so far conducted 30 health camps in different places including relief camps benefitting more than 6,000 persons.
Dr Bheigyabati further assured that the Lup will continue to extend all possible assistance and support to the weaker sections of the society especially the children, women and elderly.
