Bust of Sahid Manorajan unveiled

Imphal, October 20 2023: A bust of CRPF Cobra 201 Battalion assistant commandant Sahid Ng Manoranjan, who sacrificed his life during an operation in Naxalite-infested Chhattisgarh, has been unveiled at the brave heart's residence in Yurembam Makha Leikai on Friday.

CRPF Manipur and Nagaland Sector IGP Akhilesh Prasad, CRPF DIGs and other top officers attended the unveiling ceremony and paid tribute to the brave heart, while remembering his contributions to the country's security.

Sahid Manoranjan laid down his life during an operation to bust a gun factory in the then Naxalite-dominated area in Chhattisgarh on September 17, 2009.His team was able to destroy the gun factory operated by naxals and also recovered a huge cache of weapons.

Speaking on the occasion, Manoranjan's mother Memcha Devi appreciated CRPF for remembering her son's service to the nation, in addition to assisting the family and also for installing Manoranjan's bust.

She said that the bust would be an inspiration to the youth of the state.
