2nd round of National Deworming Day launched, orientation programme held

Thoubal/Senapati, October 20 2023: The launching programme of the second round of National Deworming Day (NDD) for Thoubal district was held today at Athokpam High School.

The launching programme was graced by Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, Ahanthem Subhash; CMO Thoubal, Dr Y Nokul and Athokpam High School Headmistress, Athokpam Roma as the presidium members.

As a part of the launching programme, the DC administered de-worming tablets to the students.

Speaking at the occasion, the DC informed that the first phase of NDD for the district was held in January and the second round is being launched today.

Asserting that there are no side effects in taking deworming tablets, the DC encouraged the parents to administer deworming tablets to their children for their good health and underscored the need to inculcate the habits of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene among children. Senapati

The District Health Society, Senapati organised an orientation programme today on National De-Worming Day for the second phase at Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Conference Hall, Senapati.

During the programme, Dr Sumpi Percy, CMO, Senapati highlighted the importance of observing National De-Worming Day.

She also appealed to the public to maintain cleanliness by using proper sanitary toilets, washing hands regularly and washing fruits and vegetables with safe and clean water.

The programme was attended by DLOs, Medical Officers and its staff, ICDS DPO and its supervisors, school teachers, ASHA workers and Anganwadi workers.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner, Senapati Mamoni Doley, IAS chaired the District Task Force meeting at DC Office, Senapati.

The meeting deliberated on launching of National De-Worming Day for 2nd Phase.
