National Deworming Day launched

The second round of State level National Deworming Day, 2023 was launched today at the auditorium of Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) at Nityaipat Chuthek, Keishampat.
Speaking as the chief guest at the programme organized by the National Health Mission.
Manipur, Health & IPR Minister Dr S Ranjan Singh said that the programme of deworming is very important and as such all children below the age of 19 should join the campaign.
He also said that taking deworming tablets will enhance the hygiene of the children.
Highlighting the significance of organizing the National Deworming Day, the Health Minister said that the role of media is spreading awareness on the importance of deworming is immense.
A poster on deworming was also launched by the Minister during the observance.
Saying that the poster on deworming should be displayed at all health centers, Anganwadi centers and other health facilities to fulfil the objective of the campaign, Dr Ranjan continued that a campaign on deworming must also be carried out at the grassroot level too.
Commissioner of Health Services PK Jha said that a collective effort of Health, Social Welfare and Education Departments is required to fulfill the objective of the campaign.
He further said that the campaign must also be carried out at relief camps.
Deworming tablets were given by the dignitaries to the school children as a part of the program.
Health Director Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang, State Mission Director, NHM, Manipur Somorjit Ningombam, officials and staff of Health, Education, Social Welfare Department and DIPR and students of TG Higher Secondary School, Imphal also attended the programme among others.
