Justice Siddharth Mridul was today sworn in as the seventh Chief Justice of Manipur High Court.
Governor Anusuiya Uikey administered the oath of office to Justice Siddharth Mridul at a swearing-in ceremony held at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan here.
Justice Siddharth Mridul of Delhi High Court was appointed as the Chief Justice of Manipur High Court by the President of India on October 16, 2023 .
Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Satyabrata Singh, Cabinet Ministers, MP Rajya Sabha Sanajaoba Leishemba, MLAs, Judges of Manipur High Court and subordinate Courts, top civil and police officers attended the swearing-in ceremony.

Attorney General of India R Venkatramani was also present at the swearing-in ceremony.
Talking to the media after the swearing-in ceremony, Chief Justice Siddharth Mridul said he is looking forward to a productive tenure in office.
Chief Justice Siddharth Mridul said he made an assessment of the Manipur High Court's activities yesterday and 3,335 cases were found pending.
He said that the number of cases pending in Manipur High Court is higher than those of Delhi High Court.
Remarking that the climatic condition of Manipur is quite refreshing and he felt it when he landed at Imphal, Justice Siddharth Mridul said that he felt elated on being appointed the Chief Justice of Manipur High Court.
He also exuded confidence that he would be able to accomplish something significant as the Chief Justice of Manipur High Court and assured that he will look into those pending cases and try to dispose of them the earliest possible time.
After swearing-in, the Chief Justice met with the Governor at Raj Bhavan and discussed about the current situation of Manipur.
The Governor informed him about the efforts made by the State and Central Governments towards bringing back peace and normalcy so that the two communities can live together as before.
Attorney General of India, R Venkataramani too called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan today.
Anusuiya Uikey informed him about the prevailing situation in the State and her continuous visits to different relief camps both in the hills and the valley districts of Manipur.
