Maheshwar calls for unity; berates Kuki MLAs

Calling for unity amongst the people, RPI (Athawale) national general secretary Maheshwar Thounaojam cautioned that without unity one cannot face the enemy of the state.
Speaking at a public meeting organised by Joint Coordinating Committee, Khangabok on the topic 'Lets Fight Against Chin-Kuki Narco-Terrorist & Illegal Immigrants' at Khangabok Mayai Lai Lamthokpham community hall on Friday, Maheshwar stressed that to defeat the enemy all must unite and identify the elements inimical to Manipur and its people.
He continued that first of all the Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists who entered Manipur illegally and are trying the break the integrity of the state should be ousted and then later on the wrongs that have corrupted the Manipuri society should be dealt with.
Maheshwar also emphasised that people should be made aware on how leaders of Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists, who are involved in various illegal activities, have made their wives stand in elections and made them MLAs and ministers to cover up their crimes.
The ongoing conflict in the state was pre-planned by them four-five years back which can be proven by their earlier works.
Even a former MP from Myanmar after entering the state became a leader of Kuki militant group and signed a SoO agreement with the government, he claimed.
Maheshwar also emphasised that Meeteis must protect themselves and press for a demand beneficial for their welfare.
Berating the 10 Kuki MLAs for demanding separate administration, he maintained that they should be jailed as they have violated the oath of office as MLAs of Manipur and should never be allowed to enter the state.
The programme was also attended by Manipur film actors Soma Laishram and Heisnam Indu.
