Imphal, January 23 2025:
The Manipur Naga Youth Organisation (MNYO) has written to Governor Ajay Bhalla seeking precise implementation of the 100 points roster system in every recruitment drive of jobs, admission and promotion of Government officials in Manipur.
In a letter, MNYO said that they acknowledge the Government's efforts to reduce unemployment of the educated youth in Manipur through continuous recruitment drives even during the Covid pandemic and amid the ongoing crisis in the State.
Saying that most of the recruitments are being done as contractual, casual, adhoc, part time and outsource basis without following proper recruitment process, MNYO contended that absence of justice in recruitment drives may invite wider unrest.
It has been learnt from various sources that many recruitment drives bypass employment exchange norms and guidelines of the quota system, MNYO said and added that they doubt the sincerity of both the Centre and the State Government in holding recruitment drives.
MNYO continued that the current recruitment drives don't follow the 100 points roaster system which grants 33 per cent reservation for ST people.
"This 100 points roaster system also applies in all the Central Universities and departments, " it said.
Further claiming that many vacant seats in Government Departments have been filled at the cost of deserving educated tribal youth and other backward classes using dishonest means, MNYO maintained they will launch a democratic form of agitation if no corrective action is taken up.
MNYO urged the Govt and relevant authorities to not declare the results of job recruitments and promotion of promotion of Government employees which were conducted unjustly or through improper channel.
