Traffic diversion notified for R-Day, rehearsal

Imphal, January 22 2024: For ensuring smooth conduct of the 75th Republic Day celebration on January 26 as well as for facilitating full dress rehearsal on January 24, the state government has notified arrangement for traffic diversions in public interest and safety of the public except for vehicles of the VIP(s) and invitees from January 24 6:30 am and January 26 till the celebratory function is over.

A notification issued by Traffic Control Police Wing SP Wungpam Kasar informed that heavy vehicles coming from Lilong side towards Singjamei shall be diverted towards Pishumthong and other public vehicles coming towards Moirangkhom shall be diverted towards Keishamthong bridge; from Mayang Imphal road towards Keishampat diverted either towards Tiddim line or Wahengbam.

Leikai; Koirengei to Khongnang Ani Karak stretch towards Dingku road or Assembly Road; from Imphal East towards Sanjenthong and Minuthong towards Lamlong bridge, Loklaobung, Thumbuthong and Singjamei bridge; from Uripok Kangchup road towards Flyover towards Nagamapal; from New Cachar road either towards Nagamapal or Keishampat; and vehicles coming from Tiddim Road towards Keishampat will be diverted either towards Wahengbam Leikai or Mayang Imphal Road.

There shall be no diversion for vehicle detailed/engaged for emergency services/duties, the notification added.
