Imphal, June 13 2023:
Appealing to the central government for an immediate solution to the present crisis.
Youth for Peace and Progress Manipur (YPPM) has called for preventing frontal organisations like ITLF from creating further problem and heightening tension in the state through their misinformation campaign.
In a release, YPPM termed as perplexing the expression of condemna tion against constitution of the peace committee comprising the chief minister to usher in peace and order in the state, by the Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF), which in fact is the frontal organisation that orchestrated armed aggression against Manipur and responsible for attack on Meiteis in Churachandpur, Moreh, Kangpokpi, Sugnu, Serou and other areas of Manipur.
In the latest incident, Kuki militants armed with sophisticated weapons attacked Meitei villages at Loklaphai near Chanung at the behest of ITLF, it alleged, while informing that six Meitei civilians were wounded in the attack.
The militants would have exterminated the Meiteis if not for the poorly armed state security forces and the armed village volunteers who fought valiantly, it added.
YPPM alleged it was on the instruction of ITLF that a gun shop was looted in Churachand pur on May 3 and further informed that FIRs have been lodged against the organisation for sedition, in addition to writ petitions pending against the 'misogynist forum' in the apex court of India for waging war against Manipur.
