Imphal, June 13 2023:
Janata Dal (United) Manipur president Ksh Biren has urged the Governor, who is also the chairperson of the peace committee formed under Ministry of Home Affairs, to include its National Council member and spokesperson Samuel Jendai instead of Abdul Nasir.
In a letter, Biren pointed out that Md Abdul Nasir, who is enlisted (SI.
No.6) as a representative of Janata Dal (United), is neither an office bearer nor recommended by the party to represent it in the Committee.
Inclusion of his name in the peace committee as a representative of Janata Dal (United) is unwarranted and objectionable, he said, while informing that a letter was also sent to Union Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, to replace Md Abdul Nasir by Samuel Jendai, JDU spokesperson and a member of Kabui Naga community, in the peace committee.
Biren also urged the Governor not to invite Md Abdul Nasir to any of the meeting of the committee.
