1040 arms, 13,601 ammos recovered: Kuldiep Singh

With recovery of 15 arms and 63 rounds of ammunition from Tengnoupal and Imphal East districts during the past 24 hours, a total of 1040 arms, 13,601 ammunition and 230 bombs of different types have been recovered till date.
This was informed by se curity advisor to Government of Manipur Kuldiep Singh through a statement on Tuesday.
According to Kuldiep, movement of essential items along NH-37 has been ensured and 253 loaded vehicles have left Jiribam for Imphal and 191 Imphal-bound loaded vehicles left Noney.
361 Jiribam bound empty vehicles left Keithel -manbi on Tuesday, he said.
Curfew relaxation has been made for 15 hours in Imphal West, Imphal-East, Thoubal and Bishnupur districts, 12 hours in Kakching and Pherzawl districts and 8 -10 hours in neighbouring hill districts.
There is no curfew in six other hill districts.
According to Kuldiep, senior officers have visited and are camping in vulnerable areas where strict security measures have been taken up prevent further violence.
Further, combined team of state and Central forces have intensified combing operations in many parts of the state.
He also said that ministers and MLAs are visiting different areas of state and appealing for peace and normalcy by meeting public.
Security forces are also organising meetings with CSOs, village heads of different villages and making appeal for peace and normalcy, besides doing their duties of area domination and patrol, he added.
