Blood donated; donation camp on Oct 1

Imphal/Kakching, September 26 2024: All India Youth Federation (AIYF) and All India Students' Federation (AISF), Manipur State Council organised a blood donation camp in association with JNIMS Blood Bank on Thursday.

According to AIYF Manipur vice-president Kh Ramananda, the camp conducted at JNIMS hospital to commemorate the death anniversary of Hijam Irawat as part of the Irawat Month saw donation by 50 individuals.

He also informed that Irawat Celebration Committee would be honouring visually impaired Khundrakpam Premjit of Lamdeng Makha Leikai, who has donated blood for the 80th time, during the 127th birth anniversary observance of Hijam Irawat at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen on September 30 .

All Uchiwa Senior Boys' Association in association with Arambai Tenggol Unit-25, HYPC, GPC, USWC, YA-SODA, SACO, INPEC, ANLLP, UWPWC and RIMS department of transfusion medicine also organised a voluntary blood donation camp at Health and Wellness Centre, Uchiwa Leirak Achouba on Thursday.

The camp, organised under the theme "Blood dedicated to martyrs" was held with support from State Blood Cell, National Health Mission Manipur to mark the 73rd death anniversary of Hijam Irabot.

Altogether 58 persons were screened with 42 of them donating blood.

Meanwhile, E Pao Tengbang Lup, Manipur in collaboration with Regular Voluntary Blood Donor, Manipur; Humanity for Society; Indian.

Red Cross Society, Imphal East District Branch; and JNIMS Blood Centre will conduct one-day blood donation camp on the occasion of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day on October 1 at JNIMS Blood Centre.

In a release, Lup general secretary Soibam Pibarel Meetei appealed blood donors to participate in the camp to.be held from 9:30 am till 12:30 pm, to save precious lives.
